What mobility policy should be adopted at work?

Your company offers you a company car or a mobility budget. It can also be used for public transport season tickets. Which to choose? What is the best solution?

A company car is a real extra benefit in a salary package. However, it should be borne in mind that companies are free to set limits on the choice of models, on the fuel/electricity budget and on private use (particularly for holidays and additional drivers). In general, the solutions are flexible enough to make it truly attractive. This is despite the tax benefit in kind. However, it may be better to accept the mobility budget.

Here are some situations in which it would be a good idea to replace a company car with a multimodal system integrated into a mobility budget:

• There is already at least one car in the household that can meet all your needs.
• Your job allows and encourages remote working.
• You live close to your place of work.
• Accessibility is guaranteed by public transport.
• A desire to remain in control when choosing your vehicle.
• Personal choice (multimodality, soft mobility).
